So many and many stories have been written and directed all on one subject. Oh the favourite subject of mankind 'LOVE'. I remember as a kid while watching movies all I kept asking was would the hero and heroine get married? I asked this question as if my mere existence relied on their marriage. I remember reading 'The Pride and Prejudice' and praying that Elizabeth should find love and was crushed when I found out that Mr Wickham the man for whom she had feelings was a cheat. Finally I was satisfied when she gives her heart away to the 'pride filled Mr Darcy'. It is just fiction but still so much importance is given to LOVE.
Statistics prove that nearly __% (well I aint gonna quote here , who knows if someone in future sues me) of films made in India are on LOVE. And there are stories made where the girl just walks out on the guy. Yeah I can see you nod your head , if not stories are made we can atleast hear stories about our so called friends where the poor guy gets dumped by the girl and where thew girl is usually oh wait, most of the times so evil and bad. In real or reel life , after our so called 'Evil woman' walks away from our hero, what does our hero do? He just drowns himself in booze and more booze and hating the rest of the women in the universe. Now if our hero is smart enough he will make sure he grows a beard, takes long puffs of the lowest brands of cigarettes available in the market. He is shown to be half mad or if none of this is shown then he is depicted as some heart broken chap who takes a very long time to heal. And as he is being healed he gets proposed by so many beautiful girls (who were lot better than his ex) but still our hero (being the man he is) , refuses each one of them by telling his sorrowful story. and while all this is happening his ex gf becomes the gf of another man, then his wife and if our hero is real unlucky she even becomes a mother. By this time hero is successful in life and he is shown to be in love with life and his work. Story is over....
Arghhhhh! I think these stories are so sterotyped. I always wonder will there be anyone to write about the women side of the story? Anyone at all? Are women always the bad ones? Dont women get dumped for no reason at all? Why are no movies made on them? Yeah agreed we cant go around growing facial hair no matter how hard we try, its biological you see!!I have reached a point where I rather beat myself senseless then watch another one of these senseless movies or hear another story of how the evil woman dumps the real good guy. Its high time someone directs a movie from a woman's perspective.
One senseless movie which I watched and made me write this post was V2V. Gosh! What rubbish!! Karthik and Jessie. Yeah yeah you can say it is just a movie but dont u think they showed Jessie as some chick who did not even have the brain of a bird?
